In the southeast of Quintana Roo, Cancun is perhaps one of the most popular destinations that welcome tourists from all over the world all year long. And of course, why wouldn’t it be among the bests, with white sand beaches, pristine blue waters, natural wonders, archeological sites, and many things to do in Cancun all year. To visit Cancun, really there is no bad season, except for hurricanes season, but in terms of when you’ll fave the most fun, really any time is a good time to visit Cancun; but, based on your interests, we will help you in determining when is the best time to visit Cancun.
Visit During The Most Enjoyable Temperature in Cancun Mexico
Although the climate in Cancun is tropical and typically mild, it is like any other environment, somewhat variable. Cancun has a semi-tropical climate, and while the weather is generally consistent throughout the year, keep in mind that there are two seasons in Cancun: the wet season, which is somewhat warmer, and the dry season, which is cooler because of the winds.
December through April are perhaps the ideal months to visit Cancun and do some snorkeling because the weather is milder due to low humidity, and you can enjoy the sun more. The only disadvantage is that because it is the best time to visit Cancun, so many people will take advantage of these dates and come to Cancun, raising prices and increasing crowds. However, but, if you prefer intense heat and want to get the perfect tan, the months of May through August are ideal. However, be careful because humidity levels begin to rise and temperatures can approach 33°F. The good thing is that it’s more affordable.
Lastly, we don’t recommend much coming during the months of September to November, especially if you are coming from London or another rainy area, because conditions are more humid at the start of this season, and storms and hurricanes are more likely to appear.
When is The Cancun High Season?
The Cancun peak season is typical during Easter week, the first holiday period of the year, and fluctuates from year to year. But, you might want to think it twice before coming during this time, the city is mostly empty, and huge lines form at toll booths, which means that if you’re traveling by car, you’ll probably find yourself stuck in an endless line of vehicles in the hot summer air, and the waits won’t end there; you might want to prepare for the queues at the various Cancun attractions. However, not everything is bad, many people come from all over the world, and many Mexicans come to visit the Caribbean Sea, this can be a great opportunity to make some new friendships.
But, if you come to Cancun after Easter, you’ll have a great time, not only because tourism is lower and you’ll be pampered like a king….but also because different companies, of course, want to keep a full year-round schedule, which is why most travel agencies in Cancun offer promotions such as free hotel nights, preferential rates and other special offers that are far better compared to those offered in high season.
Nonetheless, regardless of which season you believe is the best time to visit Cancun, keep in mind that it is important to plan ahead of time so that you avoid unpleasant situations such as “sorry, but we have no rooms remaining” upon arrival.
